Since my freshman year at UF, I have served as a student ambassador for the UF Center of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement (CIME), specifically the Office of Asian Pacific Islander Desi Student Engagement (APIDSE). As a student ambassador for the APIDSE office, I worked with my fellow student ambassadors, graduate assistant and program director to program diversity, equity and inclusive initiatives and projects with the goal of fostering the diverse community culturally and socially at UF.
During my three-year ambassadorship at the UF Center for Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement (CIME), I played an active role in organizing numerous office initiatives, including Women Empower Hour, Chai Chats, and Cultural Holiday Observances. Notably, I had the opportunity to plan the office’s annual signature events, Cultural Fair, and revive the Asian Excellence Graduation Ceremony and Hall of Fame post-COVID.
Through these experiences, I gained valuable skills in event programming, teamwork, and inclusive leadership, learning how to design events with intention and care for attendees. My involvement at CIME has been instrumental in shaping both my creative expression and professional development. By coordinating workshops such as Chai Chats, I helped foster a safe and welcoming space for students to share their experiences and learn from one another’s cultures. In addition to event planning, I contributed to the branding and marketing efforts by designing flyers, slideshows, and promotional materials for the past three years. In recognition of my contributions, I was honored with the CIME Program Director Award in 2023.
